10-Day Kenya and Tanzania-tanzania safari tours & holidays

Combine these two diverse countries in one exhilarating 10 day safari. The itinerary has fabulous game-viewing opportunities throughout and includes various parks and reserves including Amboseli, Lake Manyara, the World Heritage Site of Ngorongoro Crater and the majestic Serengeti National Park. Accommodation is in the unique Porini Amboseli Camp and then in the Lemala tented safari camps. Starting and ending in Nairobi, the tour includes flights and inter-camp transport (and most game drives).

Day 1: Transfer to Amboseli - Selenkay Conservancy

Starting at Nairobi’s Wilson airport, fly to Amboseli (or direct to Selenkay airstrip). On arrival, met and transferred to Porini Amboseli Camp. Settle in to your tent, relax and have lunch. Take a guided walk with Maasai warriors to a village to get an insight into Maasai culture. Later take a game drive in the conservancy followed by a sundowner at a scenic spot overlooking Kilimanjaro. Night game drive and return to camp for dinner and overnight. (NB shared transfer and game drives in camp’s own vehicle).

Day 2: Full day game viewing in Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast, drive via private track into Amboseli National Park, for a full morning of game viewing. Take a picnic lunch in the park and return to camp late afternoon. Evening game drive in Selenkay Conservancy. Sundowner at a scenic viewpoint, followed by a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, African wild cats, and other species. Return to camp for dinner and overnight. (Shared game drives in camp’s own vehicle).

Day 3: Transfer from Amboseli to Arusha

Early morning game drive on Selenkay, returning for breakfast. Depart from Selenkay and transfer by private 4x4 to the border crossing where you will be met by our Tanzania representative. Continue with your private 4x4 vehicle to Arusha for lunch, then check-in to The Arusha Hotel for dinner and overnight (LDBB).

Day 4-5: Game viewing in Tarangire

After breakfast, check out and drive to Tarangire to arrive early in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Nimali Tarangire (LDBB). (Transport & game drives using private 4x4). Next day enjoy a full day in the park with morning and afternoon game drives. Meals and overnight at Nimali Tarangire (LDBB). (Transport & game drives using private 4x4).

Day 6: Drive to Ngorongoro's breathtaking scenery

After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera in the world. Its enduring charm stems from its overwhelming beauty and the abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor. Afternoon tour of the crater. Dinner and overnight at Lemala Ngorongoro (LDBB). (Transport & game drives using private 4x4).

Day 7-9: Explore the Serengeti

After breakfast, drive to the Serengeti National Park, undoubtedly the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and the greatest concentration of plains game anywhere. Arrive for lunch at the lodge and bid farewell to your driver-guide (subsequent shared game drives are using camp’s own vehicle). Afternoon game drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight at Lemala Ewanjan LDBB.

Day 8 & 9 Serengeti National Park: Spend a full day in the Serengeti with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at Lemala Ewanjan (LDBB). (Shared game drives in camp’s own vehicle).

Day 10: Fly to Arusha and on to Depart

After breakfast, check out and transfer to the local airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Arusha. Met and transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport for flight to Nairobi where you can either transfer to a hotel* or connect to your onward flight. (Our local representative will assist you at check-in and reconfirm your onward flight). * hotel not included but can be added at a supplement.

Alternatively, extend your safari and transfer to Lemala Kuria Hills or Lemala Mara Camp in Northern Serengeti for a few nights before flying back (supplements apply – please ask us for details).
