Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli
Depart for the Amboseli National park arriving in time for lunch. Amboseli, meaning salty dust is scenic with the majestic snow capped Mt Kilimanjaro towering backdrop. Elephant herds here are plentiful, with other game including lion and plains herds. Enjoy your first game drive this afternoon in this game reserve. Overnight at Kibo camp. (L, D, B).
Day 2: Amboseli National park
Dawn being the most appropriate time for game viewing in this park, you will have an early game drive coinciding with the sun rise over the Kilimanjaro. You will later return to your lodge for late breakfast. The rest of the day will be spent at leisure within the confines of the camp. You will have another game drive in the afternoon. Overnight will be at the Kibo camp. (L, D, B).
Day 3: Amboseli – Lake Manyara
You will leave the Amboseli game reserve early morning, crossing the border at Namanga into Tanzania. You will have a lunch stop over at Arusha and later proceed for the Lake Manyara national park, Famous for its tree climbing lions.
Overnight at camp. (D, B).
Day 4: Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Crater
You will have a morning game drive before heading out to the Ngorongoro conservation area arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. After lunch, you will have an escorted trek along the Ngorongoro carter rim. Overnight will be at the Ngorongoro Rhino lodge. (L, D, B).
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti
Buffalo in NgorongoroEarly morning descend into the crater floor for wildlife viewing. The Black mane lions rule this unique crater area. There is also the Crater Lake which is home to thousands of migrant flamingos. Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino are also found here in greater concentrations than anywhere else in Africa. Ascend out of the crater then proceed for the Olduvai Gorge, where the "Nut Cracker Man" 1.75 million years old was discovered by Louis and Mary Leakey. The Olduvai museum has an excellent display of ancient artefacts. Continue for the Serengeti National park arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Overnight at seronora camp in Serengeti or similar (L, D, B).
Day 6: Serengeti National Park
Spend one full day game viewing in the Serengeti National park where it's not unusual to find twenty to thirty lions living in the same pride. The annual wildebeest migration is the greatest wildlife spectacle every July to October when more than two million wildebeest and Zebras set off in search of permanent water and better grazing pastures in the Masai mara. Overnight will be at Serengeti seronora camp. (L, D, B).
Day 7: Serengeti – Masai Mara
Embark on an early morning spectacular game drive over the vast plains of Serengeti, crossing the Kenya Tanzania border at Isebania, continue with the drive into the Mara arriving at you lodge for lunch. Overnight at enchoro wildlife camp in mara. (L, D, B).
Day 8: Masai Mara
These two days in the mara will be spent with morning and afternoon game drives. This game reserve is famous for the vast herds of migrating wildebeest which culminates with the grand finale crossings at the crocodile infested Mara River. This is an annual spectacle led by biological instincts in search of greener and fresher pastures. Overnight at enchoro wildlife camp. (L, D, B).
Day 9: Masai mara - lake nakuru
Pre-breakfast game drive. After breakfast, proceed to Lake Nakuru, which is often referred to as the pink lake for it’s great masses of pink flamingos and the home of the white and black rhinos and about 350 different species of birds; the Ornithological Paradise. Arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drives followed by dinner and overnight stay at Chester Hotel which is a budget hotel in Nakuru town.
Day 10: Lake Nakuru- Nairobi
After breakfast, proceed to the Rhino sanctuary for a game drive and later leave for Nairobi where the Safari ends.
A representative of Claudious Tours and Safaris will welcome you upon arrival in Nairobi for a transfer to your hotel, where he will check you in and give you a briefing about your itinerary for your over night stay.
Day 11: Nairobi City
History of Nairobi: Founded in 1899, the city was handed capital status from Mombasa in 1905. Nairobi is the capital and largest city of Kenya. It is popularly known as the “Green City in the Sun”. Nairobi is also the capital of the Nairobi Province and of the Nairobi District. The city lies on the Nairobi River, in the south of the nation, and has an elevation of 1661M (5450 ft) above sea-level. Nairobi is currently the 4th largest city in Africa and the most populous city in East Africa, with an estimated urban population of between 3 and 4 million. According to the 1999 Census, in the administrative area of Nairobi, 2,143, 254 inhabitants lived within 684 km². Nairobi is now one of the most prominent cities in Africa politically and financially. Home to many companies and organizations, Nairobi is established as a hub for Airlines into Africa, business and culture within East Africa.
